As Melanie and I are embracing this project, we are very excited to showcase student learning and to make learning visible to the students. In such a short time, we have already seen growth and excitement amongst our students to share their learning through the play-based Learning Centres. In addition, it has been a great tool for assessment. We just recently hosted up to 60 members from our board (Kindergarten Teachers, Special Assignment Teachers, SEF Leads, Director of Education), and Dr. Mary Lou McKinley from the Literacy and Numeracy Secretariat. We were able to showcase our TLLP project and share our successes thus far.
In the powerpoint presentation below, we are portraying how we captured student learning during explicit, guided and independent instruction.
In addition, we have applied to present at the Eastern Ontario Catholic Curriculum Cooperative which will be held in Cornwall, ON in April 2013.
